There is a part of me that doesn't want to risk sounding like a complete wanker by sharing that milestone. But then there is bigger part of me that is doing cartwheels and is pretty damn stoked and excited about sharing it with you, because one; it means that someone other than my Mum and Dad are reading and two; I want to share it with you because after all YOU are the reason we got to this milestone and I am feeling so stoked in the first place!
So cue the party poppers, fill my drink and clear that table cause the strippers are about to arrive.
OK scrap that last bit because it was totally unnecessary, completely over the top and strippers aren't really my thing anyways... unless they look like Liam Hemsworth in which case I would be all "hell to the yeah -clear that table, the strippers are about to arrive!"
When I started this blog 2 and a half years ago, I was half tanked on vodka and had no idea at all what I was doing. No like SERIOUSLY seriously. Trust me I would much rather have some kind of poetic tale to share with you about how this blog came to be, but the truth is I was just curious about what would happen if I clicked on the Create Blog button on the corner of the website I was looking at. And we all know what happens when you mix vodka and curiosity .... we do all know don't we?
For crying out loud I didn't even know what a blog was and in my mind clicking on the create blog button could have resulted in anything happening... like oh I dont know - opening a door way to another realm or something equally as twisted. I did tell you I was half tanked right?
Had you been sitting next to me that night and told me that 2 years down the track I would be friends with some of the most amazing souls on earth who I just so happened to meet on the interwebs, or told me how I would find a place in this insanely incredible community and quit my corporate job to make a living out of the online world, I would have laughed at you... like pee my pants kind of laughed.
Then I would most likely have gone all responsible on you - stubbed out the whacky backy joint in your hand, cut you off at the bar and called you a taxi because clearly one could assume that with all that talk you were way more tanked than me. I could barely navigate my way around my online banking site so the thought of me ever working in an online world would have had me in stitches.... at your expense ;)
So tonight, I wanted to say thank you. Thank you thank you thank you. For the support, the encouragement and the camaraderie. This blogging caper would be nothing at all without you guys and it is a fact I will never ever forget.
Now to help me celebrate, I would love to know a little more about you and your story including those of you just read quietly and don't normally comment....
Who are you fabulous people? Where are you from? Do you blog too?
Of all the Gin and Vodka Joints in the world how did I get so lucky that you found this one?
